History of Bokujin

Sho is the dynamism of life
and a form of life.

The BOKUJIN was formed on January 5th,1952.
Founding members include Morita Shiryu
who is one of the most famous calligraphers of the 20th century,
Inoue Yuichi, Eguchi Sogen, Sekiya Yoshimichi, and Nakamura Bokushi.
Breaking away from the conventional traditions of the calligraphy world,
they gathered in the stone garden of Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto
and came into the world.
We captures mainly the study of the classics,
through interaction with Western abstract painting, aesthetics, and Zen philosophy,
We have been pursuing our work with all my might and to the utmost of my ability.
It is no exaggeration to say
that modern calligraphy has been pioneered by The Bokujin.
In each era there is Sho that is unwavering in its essence
called "continuity and change", and times always demand it.
Since its formation, the BOKUJIN has consistently
adhered to the spirit of "all members are equal.
